AFMA SCHOLARSHIP FAQs

When is the Scholarship deadline?
Completed applications, with supporting documentation, are due by April 30th.

 

When is the Tuition Reimbursement deadline?
Tuition Reimbursement applications are looked at year-round. You can apply 30 days before the start of class.

 

How much will I receive for my scholarship?
It is entirely based on the decisions of the review committee and fundraising from the previous year. Scholarships can range anywhere from $500 to $3,000 per school year. There are also six (6) $5,000 Legacy scholarships and five (5) $5,000 Presenting scholarships available for the 2023-24 school year.

 

Do I have to apply separately to qualify for a Legacy or Presenting scholarship?
No. Legacy and Presenting scholarship recipients are selected from the pool of qualified scholarship applicants by the Scholarship Review Committee. Recipients are selected based on information from their applications.

 

This is my first year in college; do I need to renew my scholarship next year?
Yes, scholarships must be renewed every school year.

 

How will I know if I have been selected to receive a scholarship?
You will be notified via U.S. Mail by the end of June.

 

Can I apply for a scholarship and tuition reimbursement?
No. You can only apply for one or the other in the same school year.

 

I wasn’t eligible for a scholarship. Can I still apply for tuition reimbursement?
Yes. However, you must meet all the requirements for tuition reimbursement to be considered.

 

Do I need to submit a letter of recommendation with every application?
Yes. You must submit a letter of recommendation as part of the yearly application process.

 

Why do you need a color photo?
Photos of scholarship recipients are used in AFMA’s marketing materials. We use them to highlight our recipients and their achievements.
