The Arizona Food Marketing Alliance (AFMA) represents and advocates the interests of the Arizona retail food industry and their supplier partners. We strive to promote our industry to bring prominence and awareness of its impact and presence in Arizona.
The Arizona retail food industry and its suppliers represent over $30 billion in sales revenue, along with 5,600 outlets and over 125,000 employees in the state of Arizona.

Our members operate stores in every city and town in Arizona. AFMA is the voice of the Arizona grocery industry.

  • Proud to have one of the most respected lobbying teams in Arizona.
  • We provide weekly legislative updates to our members during the Legislative session.
  • We monitor issues at the state, county and city level to ensure our members are informed, prepared, and protected.
  • Our Advisory Board includes a member of the Arizona State Senate and a former Maricopa County Supervisor.
  • AFMA works with both Republican and Democrat parties of Arizona to protect our retail food and beverage industries.

  • Support our member company employees and their dependents (up to age 26) with college scholarships
  • Offer a tuition reimbursement program for member company employees.
  • Award seven (7) $5,000 Legacy Scholarships annually.

  • We are an association that believes we are stronger together. We will continue to strengthen the alliance between all our retailer and supplier members to promote our industry and to bring prominence and awareness on its impact in Arizona.

  • We collaborate with state regulators to keep our members up to date on new laws and regulations that may affect their business.
  • AFMA is included in stakeholders discussions with several state regulator boards including Agriculture, Weights and Measures, Liquor Licenses and Controls, Industrial Commission, and Economic Services (WIC and SNAP).
